Here are some recent photos from the Apple Country Fair in Brookfield, MA and the Handmade with Love fair at Eastworks in Easthampton. Custom Design and Sewing

custom chair seat cover These Redhaven Workshop  seat covers were designed for a set of beautiful antique chairs with upholstered seats. Two of the chairs had arms; detailing for the ties at the arms can be seen in the image below. custom chair seat detailThis was an especially fun and challenging project requiring close attention to detail and use of imagination to create a product my client is quite happy with. The seat cover material complements the dining room decor. The covers protect the upholstered seats and are easily removed for laundering.

NOFA Fair Michael and Linda

Last Saturday, Redhaven Workshop was among the vendors for the NOFA Summer Conference Farmer/Crafter Market.

The weather was beautiful, lots of folks out and about enjoying the Fair and the NOFA energetic. It was wonderful to see old friends and meet many new folks.

I love selling my wares during agricultural fairs. Aprons ready to protect the clothes and inspire cooking with and preserving vibrant, fresh produce. Clothespin bags to support hanging the laundry on the line to dry in the fresh air and late summer sunshine.

My daughter, Abby, took this photo of my husband Michael and myself at the NOFA Fair. My carpenter/café aprons, child’s smock aprons and clothespin bags are arranged around us. Michael is great supporter of my Redhaven Workshop endeavors..loading, unloading, setting up and closing down, listening and advising.

Next Saturday, the 20th, you will find me at the Stone Soup Farm Chilifest  in Belchertown and on the 28th, at the Red Fire Farm Tomato Festival in Granby.  For details, see the Visit Me section of my blog.

Best wishes for your days,

Linda

Aprons for All

5 Aug

Redhaven Workshop Aprons The Summer Agricultural Fair and Festival season is upon us. There are lots of local opportunities to savor locally grown produce.

Putting on an apron puts us in the mood to begin preserving summer flavors for the chilly weather to come. Aprons evoke feelings, images, memories, desires, inspiration and invite connection to our nourishing food.

Look for me and my Redhaven Workshop Aprons at the NOFA Summer Conference Farmer Crafter Fair, the Stone Soup Farm Chilifest, and Red Fire Farm’s Tomato Festival. For details, follow the links in “Visit Me.”

Stitching

11 Jun

Children's Apron DetailAs the days of June come and go and my opportunities to sew seem few, I am stitching with the needle of life’s threads.

I find myself weaving together concerns for the health of dear family members, driving distances to see and care for loved ones, feeding my chicks, cleaning my home, weeding the garden, working my two part time jobs and living all things Shutesbury as my town celebrates 250 years.

I am looking forward to my summer schedule. Most Saturdays, you will find me at the Shutesbury Farmers and Artisans Market. More dates and events will be posted in the coming weeks.

Please contact me for information about any Redhaven Workshop products.

Custom orders are welcome.

” We reap what we sew.”

Best wishes for your days,

Linda

Shutesbury Farmers Artisans Market Opens Tomorrow

20 May

Wow, tomorrow morning, the Shutesbury Farmers Artisans Market begins its 4th year! I am looking forward to selling my work during my very own Town’s market. The support and camaraderie of my vending friends who set up week by week continues to grow and be nurtured by the folks who come by to visit and shop.  Truly, a community supported event.
